The role of SISFA is:

  • to represent the interests of self managed superannuation funds to Government, along with various departments and authorities within the superannuation industry.
  • to provide information, and educate Australians on issues specific to small superannuation funds, and to complement existing industry associations and professional bodies.
  • The Secretariat will provide support in committee programs, Government submissions, information seminars, industry and public relations.

 

 

 



The objectives of SISFA are:

  • To build awareness among the general public of the benefits of small independent superannuation funds.
  • To develop policies in relation to small independent superannuation funds and matters affecting the interests of members of the Association.
  • To provide information to Government and media on small independent superannuation funds and the Association's policies.
  • To develop best practice guidelines for members.
  • To share information between trustees of small independent superannuation funds, their advice professionals, and other service providers.
  • To liaise with Government on proposed policy, legislation and rulings that affect small independent superannuation funds.
  • To consult with other superannuation funds and industry organisations on matters of common interest including, where appropriate, the initiation of joint action programs.
  • To foster communications and an affirmation with comparable organisations in Australia or overseas.
